51ST STATE
TAVERN
opened during Labor Day Weekend 2004 and has
quickly become the favorite hangout/neighborhood bar of local
residents, office workers and students in the West End. We have
strived to create a cozy, fun place for a diverse crowd. Our
antique bars on 2 floors were imported from Pittsburgh and Kansas
City, the artwork on exposed brick, incl. oversized classic
Guinness posters, were collected over many years by owner, Joe
Lyon, wooden booths from the 1920's with brass lighting - all this
combined with modern touches such as internet jukeboxes (over
140.000 musical choices guarantees you'll find and hear what you
like) and 6 TV screens incl. a 60" plasma screen as well as a pool
table - creates an atmosphere that will make you feel at home right
away.
Our menu is comprised of classic American and
Mexican favorites such as juicy Burgers, hot Wings and crispy
Quesadillas; our choices of Wine are above normal pub fare; we
carry 16 Beers on tap; fully stocked Bars and we even have a
Martini Menu.
We are conveniently located right where L Street
connects with Pennsylvania Avenue and 25th Street in NW, near to
Foggy Bottom Metro Station.
The best Happy Hour in the West End and nightly
Specials ensures that whether you want a quiet beer after work, sip
a drink with a meal on our patio during warmer months or have a fun
night on the town, you are sure to find it at
The 51ST STATE
TAVERN.
